Berckmans Place is named for Prosper Berckmans, the Belgian-born horticulturist whose Fruitland Nurseries occupied the Augusta site from 1857 until 1918. The azaleas at 13, the magnolias at 6, the redbuds at 15. Many trace to Berckmans’ original plantings. Augusta National bought the land in 1931; the first Masters ran in April 1934, with Horton Smith winning by a stroke over Craig Wood. The 1934 Collection is Augusta’s throwback capsule, referencing that inaugural year.
Materials. Cotton twill by American Needle, embroidered logo, unstructured crown, adjustable rear strap. Grey with tournament-color trim.
