Not a memoir, not a coffee-table piece. A technical manual, produced with the Golf Digest editorial team he had been writing his monthly column for since he turned pro in 1996.

Why it matters. This is Woods’s only instruction book from the top of his own mountain. Everything since, the swing changes with Haney, the collapse and rebuild with Foley, the post-fusion return, has been a departure from what’s on these pages. There is no second book. The window that produced this narrowed the following year, and nothing that has come out about Woods’s swing in the twenty-plus years since has replaced it.
