Vintage PING Hoofer 2 — Nancy Lopez Chick-fil-A Pro-Am
A small piece of LPGA history, stitched into a PING.
This vintage Hoofer 2 pairs brown honeycomb-patterned panels with black fabric, outlined PING lettering, and embroidery for the Chick-fil-A Charity Championship hosted by Nancy Lopez — Sara Lee Foods Pro-Am.
The tournament at Eagle’s Landing Country Club in Stockbridge, Georgia, holds a special place in Lopez’s career: she captured her 48th and final LPGA Tour victory there in 1997. Its charitable legacy was substantial, too. At the tournament’s March 2004 media day, organizers reported $5 million raised during nine years with Chick-fil-A.
The embroidery connects this bag to the event’s pro-am. Its specific year and original recipient have not been established; it is not represented as Nancy Lopez’s personal or tournament-used bag.
